Let me introduce our group to you, what we do and where we want to go over the next few posts.
Who is the UVP Group?
First of all, UVP stands for Upper Valley Produce our namesake fresh produce distribution company with headquarters in White River Junction, Vermont. Upper Valley Produce has grown significantly since becoming part of our “family” of companies. “UVP” as it is called has become a leader in the northeast with programs developed for the convenience store industry, a truly local/regional meat program and a partnership with Steve Connolly seafood and multiple dairy/cheese producers from around the region. Upper Valley Produce has an industry first on-site growing program called CustomGro, where they use the expertise of another one of our companies- Vermont Hydroponic Produce to grow fresh produce in our customers locations. Growing fresh produce in our customers buildings is one way that we “Partner” with our customers. We find out what our customers needs are and try to innovate with them on cutting edge techniques to drive customers into their businesses and facilities. Today, Upper Valley Produce has just about every possible fresh produce item you can think of in stock at their new state of the art fully SQF certified facility. A fresh meat program, seafood and all types of cheeses/yogurts and ancillary items like fresh salsa, spices and more. I’m going to wrap this up as I can tell your getting bored with the sales pitch!
I will close with an invitation to our very first Fresh Food Festival, a celebration of fresh regional food held at our greenhouses in Florence, Vermont on June 23rd and 24th.
